About this event Travel & Outdoor • Other In September and the beginning of October we will be working on snakebite (red route). Please meet at Benham bushes car park for 9am or at the trail if arriving after. In late October we will likely be moving to meeting at Juniper, please check back for further details nearer the time. The QECP Trail Collective are a group of volunteers who want to ensure that the trails in the park are safe, fun to use, and suitable for various levels of experience. The 'dig days' at QECP involve manual labour using a selection of tools, including spades, rakes, hoes and mattocks. While this will be of particular interest to those who use the trails, it is not just for mountain bikers. No riding is required on dig days! All volunteers can leave with a sense of satisfaction of a good session's work, some great 'before and after' shots. Health and safety is very important, all volunteers will be given a tool & task talk. This is for your safety and that of others, whilst you are volunteering. You will need gloves, long trousers and appropriate sturdy footwear, such as walking or safety boots (steel toe caps if you have them). You may not be able to dig if you have inappropriate footwear. Along with some layers/ waterproofs, hat and insect repellent. You will be in the woods and therefore need to be mindful of ticks/mosquitos. We highly recommend bringing water, and any snacks you need. Please bring a cup for tea break! We look forward to welcoming you!
