Join Trash Free Trails and partner Velosolutions for the finale of their Spring Clean tour at Fort William pump track, and on the Ben!

To see out their tour of the UK, Trash Free Trails are hosting their FIRST EVER trail clean on Ben Nevis. One group will head up the mountain, while down at the pump track the party will get started. We'll end the day with music, food and a heap of single-use pollution removed!

One individual from the Pump Track Spring Tour will be chosen for an all expenses paid spot at the British Qualifiers for the World Pump Track Championships in June.

The Ben Nevis Expedition will meet at the Pump Track at 7am in Fort William, before being taken over to the Visitor Centre. The hike is expected to take around 8 hours - you must be mountain fit and comfortable carrying all you need for a day on the Ben. We will have a qualified mountain leader on hand throughout.

The pump track clean will kick off at 10am with a jam session, help clear up the pump track and surrounding park from 11-12, before we reward ourselves with some rounds of the track until 2pm. Velosolutions will be on hand to share tips and tricks throughout the day, as well as scouting local riding talent.

From 3pm we'll be joined by a local food vendor and musician, welcoming the Ben Nevis volunteers back at approximately 5pm for some well needed sustenance and celebration!

ABOUT THE BEN NEVIS TRAIL CLEAN

The Ben Nevis Citizen Science Expedition will be the first of many data sets Trash Free Trails obtains from Britain’s highest mountain. It will complement the years worth of data sets we now have for Yr Wydffa and Scafell Pike. 

Citizen Scientists will walk the tourist route up Ben Nevis while completing a Trash Count to build a picture of what’s out there. Once at the Summit the team will complete a clean of the Summit Plateau before heading back down the tourist path.
