Mills n Moors Series
Join us as we connect the varied 'off-road' tracks that radiate from Blazing Saddles bike shop in Hebden Bridge out onto the 'Forest of Rossendale' on our second ride of 2025.

- 'red' grade route at 56km / 1,200 meters of climbing
- 'black' grade route at 72km with a total elevation of 1,600 meters
Maps of each route on the Yorkshire Divide website: https://yorkshiredivide.co.uk/mills-n-moors-series
Highlights include:
Bridleway up through one of the most beautiful valleys in West Yorkshire: Colden Clough
Stunning views across the moors from Widdop Rocks
Thrilling descent down one of the longest continuous bridleways in the north of England
Flowing green lane through the limestone hushings at Shedden Clough
Explore little know gravel tracks above Waterfoot in the South Pennines
Climb up Todmorden Ghost Road (it's a broken tarmac single track lane, not a haunted lane which would be daft)
Descend 225 meters in one long swoop down to the floor of the Calder Valley
Return to the finish line at Blazing Saddles in Hebden Bridge via the traffic free canal towpath
The Event Hub
The event hub is at Blazing Saddles, an independent bike shop in Hebden Bridge
The start line is at the rear of the shop down the alley opposite the Post Office on Holme Street
There is a friendly meet n greet in the shop on Sunday between 8am - 10am
Any gravel bike / mountain bike / E-bike is welcome and would get you around the route (min 40mm tyres)
The start line is 5 minutes from Hebden Bridge train station
A map showing the exact location of the Event Hub and car parking is on the YD website: www.yorkshiredivide.co.uk
The routes
Each route starts by riding along the superb gravel towpath towards Stubbing Wharfe pub
It is a self-guided ride with no way markings saying ‘Mills n Moors route’
You will receive all three gpx route files in the week leading up to the event
Its your choice which route to ride as any type of bike is fine on each route - gravel bike, e-bike, mtb.
The ‘blue’, ‘red’ and ‘black’ refers to how strenuous the trail is by distance and elevation and not by how rough the tracks are (each route has smooth trails and very rough trails!!)
Minimum age of 12 years old when accompanied by a parent / guardian
On the day
Enjoy a relaxed tea / coffee / biscuits / home made cakes inside the bike shop BEFORE
Hot soup and bread rolls back at the bike shop AFTER your ride
Pick up your embroidered cloth badge inside the shop with new colours for 2025
Toilet facilities inside the shop
Head off when you're ready as there is no ‘mass start’
A list of kit that you should carry is on the website: www.yorkshiredivide.co.uk
