A red level women's social ride at Cannock Chase, hosted by SheRides ambassador Phoebe (there's a blue level ride on 8 November).
The group explores classic Cannock Chase off-piste: flowy singletrack, scenic views and opportunities to send it, with no pressure to hit features or go fast. Off-piste difficulty varies. Expect roughly 15-20km, around 3 hours depending on the group.
Meet Phoebe by the benches just outside the Cannock Chase Visitor Centre café off Marquis Drive, ready to ride for 10am; be on time (what3words: ///cobble.assembles.travel). More on the Marquis Drive Visitor Centre.
Facilities: free roadside parking or a paid car park (it can get busy, so allow extra time to find a space), toilets, café. A helmet is a must: SheRides will not ride with anyone who is not wearing one. Other protective gear is up to you (the ambassadors normally ride with knee/elbow pads and maybe gloves, depending on conditions). You'll need a bike that is trail suitable, safe and in working order. Bikes can be hired from the Cannock Chase Cycle Centre; book well in advance. Bring plenty of water and snacks, as you'll be away from the cars until the end of the ride. Phoebe grabs a coffee afterwards and everyone is welcome to stay for lunch.
The ride is free; you might need money for the car park, or park on the road for free.
Sign up on the ride's Plus1 page (no app needed, Plus1 emails you a code). Contact the ambassadors by posting in the ride's comments on Plus1; if you're running late, there might not be signal at the meet point. Open to women 18+; you ride at your own risk.
