WeRide MTB Kids MTB Club: Ride. Learn. Explore. Progress.

WeRide MTB Guiding & Skills Coaching are launching a monthly Kids MTB Club at Philips Park MTB Trails near Whitefield, giving young riders the opportunity to develop their skills, ride with other like-minded riders and explore the trails with qualified coaches and guides.

What to expect

• MTB skills coaching: develop confidence, technique and trail skills, including braking, cornering, pumping and jumping
• Guided trail riding around the Philips Park North and South loops and the surrounding parkland
• Trail etiquette
• Learn how to ride trails with greater control, confidence and flow
• Ride, learn and have fun with other young mountain bikers
• Fully qualified MTB coaches and guides (British Cycling or MIAS qualified, with Outdoor First Aid certificates)

Club details

• Meeting point: The Barn Countryside Centre, Phillips Park, Whitefield, Greater Manchester M45 7QJ
• Age: 12 to 16 years
• Ability: confident riding blue / red grade trails or natural off-road trails
• Time: 10am to 3pm
• Cost: £30 per rider, per session

Building MTB at Philips Park

WeRide MTB are working in partnership with NCA (Nationwide Cycling Academy) to help lead the growth of mountain biking at Philips Park MTB Trails for young riders. Whether you're looking to improve your skills, build confidence or simply spend more time riding great trails with other young riders, the Kids MTB Club is a great place to ride, learn and progress.

What to bring

• A mountain bike in good working order
• A helmet (open or full face)
• Clothing suitable for the weather, plus spare clothes
• Lunch, snacks and drinks, and a bag to carry them
• A spare inner tube and basic tools
• Protective gear: knee pads, gloves and elbow pads are recommended
