Woodland Riders Racing invites you to the exhilarating world of downhill mountain bike racing at Gawton Gravity Hub in the Tamar Valley. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a first-time racer, the events are suitable for all, with a fun and relaxed atmosphere. All of the Winter Series races are held at Gawton. The tracks suit all riding abilities and are fully rollable, with alternate B lines around any obstacle that isn't rollable.
Round 1, 25 October 2026: HSD. Round 1 will be run on HSD, hopefully with an extra section at the bottom to make the track longer. The finish will be 30-40 feet lower down the hill, but the push-up will be 150-200 feet shorter too. HSD is the easiest track at Gawton, fast and flowy, and can be ridden at any speed by all abilities.
Race timetable
07:00-09:30: Track open for inspection on foot.
08:30-10:30: Sign-on open in the hut. All riders must sign on. Under-16s must be signed on by a parent or guardian.
09:30-11:30: Track open for a short practice session. All riders must complete 2 full runs to meet British Cycling rules.
11:30-12:15: Lunch break for marshals, track closed.
12:30: Race runs commence and finish once everyone has had their second run. Start lists and race times are posted on the back wall in the hut.
Practice and track previews
Track preview photos go on the gallery page a week before each race. They show the basic route but not any new loam sections. You're welcome to walk new sections the weekend before, but there is strictly no riding new sections before the unofficial Saturday practice day. Anyone practising on the Saturday must hold a Gawton Gravity Hub membership or a day pass, and may be asked to prove it.
Race numbers
Anyone who has raced a previous round in the series must bring their number board from that round, as it is your race number for the entire series.
