Aberdeenshire Trail Association dig days - Kirkhill Dig

Aberdeenshire Trail Association dig days are running across several trail spots in Aberdeenshire, Scotland through spring 2026. These volunteer sessions focus on maintaining and developing local mountain bike trails, with half-day digs scheduled at Corennie, Pitfichie, Kirkhill and Drumtochty, plus two women’s dig days where the final location is still to be confirmed.

Each session currently listed runs from 09:30 to 13:30 and welcomes riders who want to help shape and maintain the trails they ride.

Corrennie Dig 21st March

Volunteers return to Corennie to tackle ongoing trail work, with the Aberdeenshire Trail Association noting there is plenty to do and encouraging riders who use the trails to come along and lend a hand.

MTB Industry Dig Day – Pitfichie – 23rd March 2026

This session is focused on work connected to a new trail project in Pitfichie Forest. The Aberdeenshire Trail Association says the trail is being developed with permission from Forestry and Land Scotland and aims to support local riding, events and coaching activity.

Women’s Dig Day – Location TBC

This dig day celebrates trail building women across Aberdeenshire, inviting participants to join a group trail work session. The final meeting location is still to be confirmed.

Kirkhill Dig 18th April

The ATA team continues ongoing trail maintenance and improvement work in Kirkhill Forest, welcoming volunteers to help with the next stage of the project.

Drumtochty Dig 26th April

Volunteers return to the Drumtochty trails to continue maintenance and trail improvements, with the group encouraging riders to sign up and help prepare the trails for the season.
