Western Park Freeride Trails are in Leicester. It is an urban bike park in a park setting.

Tracks

  • Western Park bike tracks suits BMX and dirt bikes. It has a BMX circuit, a large range of tabletops lines like the Mainline line with its six pack, berms, drops, and a pump track. 
  • It is a good place to practice jumping and the community is friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Other Stuff

  • Best not to ride when it has been wet weather as it is a clay soil base.
  • The trails are built by volunteers on Council land, are legal, and have not been demolished since 2002. They had their 11th birthday on April 2023 when they also won Cycling Friendly Destination for 2023 in the Leicester Cycle Awards.

Good inner city bike park

Been riding the trails at western park since around the millennium good place to ride friendly locals always happy to advise if needed

What do you like?

Variety of trails from beginner to intermediate

What could be improved?

No real bad ! Please wear a helmet that is we ask

Jumps & bumps.drops & senders 4 all

Great place to ride with enough going on to spend the day here & take the kids as huge park all around the trails

What do you like?

Great place for all abilities & nice & compact with something for everyone. Considering this is honed & maintained by the local riders it is as good as it could be. If only a little investment could come from the council to help it would take this already very popular freeride area to another level......I used to race bmx here in early-mid 80's....now in my mid 40's I ride here as often as I can.....great place already....with massive potential for further development.

great place to learn to jump

What do you like?

Nice table lines to learn how to jump. Some bigger doubles and also step ups and downs. Big berms and a pump track although this is for beginners not a pump and jump. Drains quickly but obviously when the roads are wet its soft. A massive amount of fun for a minute amount of climbing!

What could be improved?

Theft rate is high look after your gear. No facilities as such on site but close to shops along main road. You can get hurt if you don't take your time building up skills.
