Western Park Freeride Trails are in Leicester. It is an urban bike park in a park setting.

Tracks

  • Western Park bike tracks suits BMX and dirt bikes. It has a BMX circuit, a large range of tabletops lines like the Mainline line with its six pack, berms, drops, and a pump track. 
  • It is a good place to practice jumping and the community is friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Other Stuff

  • Best not to ride when it has been wet weather as it is a clay soil base.
  • The trails are built by volunteers on Council land, are legal, and have not been demolished since 2002. They had their 11th birthday on April 2023 when they also won Cycling Friendly Destination for 2023 in the Leicester Cycle Awards.

Western Park - Great place to hone those jumping skills

Really relaxed atmosphere and alway great fun
Excellent place to enhance riding and jumping skills

Bike park opinion

A good bike park to start of and learn new tricks. However, as you become more experienced, the bike park can become a bit boring. To improve I think that main line should be a lot steeper and have bigger gaps Also fix jumps as soon as possible with the water container. Overall, I think it is a good local bike park for people learning to ride.

What do you like?

I like the way the bike park is good for learners who are wanting to get into MTB also it is a good spot for if people are passing by and would like to have a ride.

What could be improved?

The things I think could be improved are making main line more steeper and have bigger gaps and also jumps being maintained more often e.g. second of step ups have not been fixed in over a month.
