Western Park Freeride Trails are in Leicester. It is an urban bike park in a park setting.

Tracks

  • Western Park bike tracks suits BMX and dirt bikes. It has a BMX circuit, a large range of tabletops lines like the Mainline line with its six pack, berms, drops, and a pump track. 
  • It is a good place to practice jumping and the community is friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Other Stuff

  • Best not to ride when it has been wet weather as it is a clay soil base.
  • The trails are built by volunteers on Council land, are legal, and have not been demolished since 2002. They had their 11th birthday on April 2023 when they also won Cycling Friendly Destination for 2023 in the Leicester Cycle Awards.

The effort of volunteers here is awesome and the trails are constantly been improved and added to. Keep up the good work!

Inner City Biking

Massive respect to the trail builders past and present

What do you like?

Awesome trails designed built and maintained by bikers for bikers over the last 17 years. Fantastic range of lines packed into a small corner of the largest park in Leicester. Very friendly locals, suitable for a wide range of bikes and skill levels. Free parking, free entry, opportunities to get involved in trail building. Annual Jam in July is always a great event.

What could be improved?

Can be very claggy after heavy rain.

Small spot, big fun

Credit to the locals, the way this has developed over the years due to the input of dedicated riders using only spades and wheels barrows is inspiring.

Excellent for beginners to expert

Perfect

What do you like?

Perfect for beginners to learn to jump on the small tables and perfect for experts on the bugger gap jumps. Something for everyone and suitable for any bike apart from a grannie shopper. Don't think that would survive. Very friendly people up there and gold a summer jam every year which is good.

What could be improved?

Watch for dog bombs

Plenty of smiles and air miles

Awesome set of jumps suitable for any bike capable of going off road, plenty of smiles, friendly people and a good laugh all day
