Western Park Freeride Trails are in Leicester. It is an urban bike park in a park setting.

Tracks

  • Western Park bike tracks suits BMX and dirt bikes. It has a BMX circuit, a large range of tabletops lines like the Mainline line with its six pack, berms, drops, and a pump track. 
  • It is a good place to practice jumping and the community is friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

Other Stuff

  • Best not to ride when it has been wet weather as it is a clay soil base.
  • The trails are built by volunteers on Council land, are legal, and have not been demolished since 2002. They had their 11th birthday on April 2023 when they also won Cycling Friendly Destination for 2023 in the Leicester Cycle Awards.

Well built and maintained trails in the middle of Leicester. Definitely a riders hub. The place entertains all styles of riding including DJ, BMX and mountain / downhill bikes. Always other enthusiastic and friendly people on the trails willing to share tips. Brilliant local spot that plays host to various bike jams and get togethers throughout the year. Something for everyone from novice to skilled riders. Ideal place to learn new skills and maintain / improve skills. Great atmosphere. Run by a great bunch of riders who are always welcoming to first timers and always willing go give advice. I personally have learnt so much and made some great friends from riding here.

What do you like?

Great place in Leicester to ride and meet new like minded people. Really good atmosphere particularly in the summer time. All kinds of riding abilities are catered for and welcomed. The trails and jumps are well maintained. It's ran by a great bunch of locals who know what they are doing and have great passion in providing a safe and encouraging place to ride your bike.

What could be improved?

Doesn't ride too well in the wet but, if the trails are not riding the local lads are using the opportunity to carry out maintenance and create new features. No toilets but there is a petrol station / Subway 200 yards down the road.

Back in the saddle!

Great facility for kids and adults. Attracts a good, friendly crowd. Definitely worth a look in.

What do you like?

Amazing spot. I’m from a nearby (ish) town and have only recently got back on my bike. The guys there have been really welcoming and it’s been a great place to get my confidence back and start jumping again. Good variety of lines that keep you progressing and a great crowd of people to spur you on!

What could be improved?

Nothing comes to mind.

Great park for all levels, welcoming and great fun ?

What do you like?

Everyone is friendly and welcoming, events every year followed by socials. Great age range from kids to dinosaurs.
