Potential for growth
The blue trail here was different to any other trail centre blue i've ever ridden- once off the road there was a nice open feel to it with a heathland theme that you never find at FC trail centres. This means that from the top of the cliffs you can see for many miles on a good-weather day. There were some good descents down the fields which would be best done in a group so that the first rider could hold gates open to keep the flow going.
we found that although there were many arrows to lead the way they aren't necessarily in some of the best spots- especially at the far end where you turn for home, and another we missed in the first crop field, which lead to a modified loop being done. This did not detract from the ride and gave us the chance to see some of the many bridleways that seem to criss-cross this area.
I imagine with local knowledge some interesting descents could be created out of the existing bridleways which look good and steep as they head down the bank. No doubt a more technical route will be created in due course.
The skills loop is a good use of space; you can see that a fair bit of money has been spent to get this place off the ground.
What do you like?
Cracking view
Many weather-roof trails
Cheaper to park than Dalby
Good for children
What could be improved?
Few waymarked routes at the moment (but plenty of bridleways to explore)
Would you recommend?
*Yes*
