There are several trails at Healey Nab to suit all skill levels:

Red Climb

  • This trail leads from the access path to the trail head. It features switchbacks and some technical rocky and rooty areas

Red Downhill

  • Fast, flowing downhill trail featuring berms, rock gardens, drops and jumps. All features are either rollable or can be avoided.

Black Downhill

  • Fast downhill trail featuring tight berms, jumps and drops. This trail has two alternative versions

Red Return

  • A trail through the lower woods containing a mix of downhill and climbs. Featuring the collapsed wall rock garden.

Rear Red

  • A gentle red trail at the rear of the site, this is an area for future development

Healey Nab Review

Best free to access trails in the north west, run by a dedicated team of volunteers with regular meet ups.

Red is a really fun flow line with great progression for learning to jump. Could do with one or two safety lines for those not at that level yet. Black has good tech options too. Red climb back to the top is a fun loop with shortcuts to the trailhead throughout.

Its a short but very sweet trail layout, but with plenty of options to keep things new, linking a red black, red descent is a must.

Plenty of road parking around with a short ride up to the trails.

Highly recommend.

What do you like?

Easy access to great riding.

What could be improved?

Add a safety line around the step up on the red and improve the new crossing on the black route.

Massivly upgraded trails

All the trails have recently had a major upgrade both by the volunteer team and a team from Dirt Factory.  This is now a top quality set of trails and well worth a visit.

What do you like?

Good variety of trails, well maintained by a diverse team of local enthusiasts.  Constantly evolving with repairs and new features each month.

What could be improved?

Can be a bit hard to find if you fail to follow the maps.  No real facilities as it is in the middle of a wood.

Would you recommend?

yes
