There are several trails at Healey Nab to suit all skill levels:

Red Climb

  • This trail leads from the access path to the trail head. It features switchbacks and some technical rocky and rooty areas

Red Downhill

  • Fast, flowing downhill trail featuring berms, rock gardens, drops and jumps. All features are either rollable or can be avoided.

Black Downhill

  • Fast downhill trail featuring tight berms, jumps and drops. This trail has two alternative versions

Red Return

  • A trail through the lower woods containing a mix of downhill and climbs. Featuring the collapsed wall rock garden.

Rear Red

  • A gentle red trail at the rear of the site, this is an area for future development

Other Stuff

I've been riding this trail for over 10 years in different guises. Originally designed by Rowan Sorrell it was a tight twisty red and black route through a forest, then unfortunately larch disease meant most of the trees were destroyed along with a lot of the trails damaged. It was rideable, just, but felt like an apocolypse and the trials were damaged due to the fellwork.

Recently however it has been transformed, nature is reforming so it looks more covered and there has been an amazing hard working team who have redeveloped the existing trail route with sculpted berms, drops, jumps and made it rideable for the future.

Ive never seen the area so busy with different ages and abilities of riders coming from far flung areas, having heard about the recent works.

Highly rated

Absolutely love it here, been going since 4 years old and now I’m 13, trails were already at good quality before dirt factory came, and then wow! They completely changed the whole place and it’s somehow even better! The jumps and berms are really smooth and has a large variety of jumps, berms, tech, free ride and views. Track maintenance has been superb with gaps in trails from rain and drainage all the way down. Highly rate this place to go to. Loving it!

Bike park in Chorley, Lancashire. There are 2 official tracks, a red flow trail and a more advanced black tech trail. There is also a climbing route and a pushup. The trails are well maintained by local volunteers and the red run was recently rebuilt by Dirt Factory who did an amazing job. There are also many off piste tracks located around the site.

What do you like?

Good atmosphere, usually quite busy. Runs well in the wet. Good for sessioning and progression.

What could be improved?

Motorbikes and Surrons have easy access to the trails and do cause a lot of damage.
