Hinking for a day out at gisburn? Grab it with both hands and go for it. Great reservoir walk too for the non cyclists. Volunteers have really worked a bit of magic keeping gisburn up there with the best of them.

Brilliant variety of trail, I ride there every week. If you want an easy ride or a hard ride, gisburn can cater to your needs. People complain it's rough and beat up.. it's mountain biking not a pavement. There's suspention for a reason! Everything from techy climbs + downhills to fast swooping single track and family friendly trails. End of the ride great cafe with great food and drink .
What could be improved?
my only criticism would be the amount of rubbish on the floor. It's not gisburns fault, if you can bring it with you, you can take it back with you or keep it till you find a bin. It's not hard and keeps the forest looking beautiful.
Great place to go got a little bit of everything and always making new lines sum pritty technical stuff id say its my favourite trail centre so far hope line hully gully n dh line r all great
Great trials, shit trail centre cafe, which has too much potential.
What do you like?
Trails are excellent, the black run is great fun, with a huge variety of terrain and features. I personally like to session the Hope line a bit before continuing and there is some lovely sections at the top of the quarry. I think Gisburn is my favourite trail centre just because of what it packs in in a couple of hours ride.
What could be improved?
Trails are ace, Gully is a mess and there could be more drainage in the first berms as you'll be wet through within 5 minutes of your ride but this is mountain biking. I can live with that. The cafe, although convenient is a huge discredit to the trail centre. We ordered sausages sandwiches, to the tune of nearly a fiver, I get it, its a captive audience and you pay a premium. But they were terrible. Tiny sausages and huge cuts of bread. 6 of us ordered and we all felt ripped off. The coffee was also not good. How do you mess up pouring hot water through beans? Another occasion I have had to sit outside as the owner or whoever wanted to sit on her laptop taking up a full table (there is only 4) and when asking if the pressure washer was working, we were told it is broken and they are waiting for the Forestry Commission to fix it. They charge a quid a go to use it, buy a new one for £60, then another one for spare and it would pay for itself in a day, keep people happy and their cars clean and would make money, and more importantly not piss people off.
Overall one of the best trail centres I've ridden. If you like technical climbing along with white knuckle descents this place is for you.
What do you like?
The sheer variety of trails, smooth flowing berms to rocky and rooty technical sections.
Every section of trail is interesting. A great measure of fitness and skills level all the way around the Red loop with the option to push yourself on the optional black sections, and no long tedious fire road climbs. Yes there are fire roads on the red loop but they are short lived and you're soon back on the technical stuff.
Well maintained trails and facilities. Good Cafe.
What could be improved?
The jump up from the red to blue is quite a marked leap compared to other centres ive ridden. Also I've heard comments on the blue loop being a bit too short.
I've been coming to Gisburn for years and it never disappoints. I've ridden in the snow, rain, wind, sun etc and it has always been awesome.
I've ridden on my own, in groups, with the family and on training days. It suits everything!
What do you like?
Kid friendly
Great training ground
Variety
All weather riding
Always a challenge
Great for groups or solo
What could be improved?
More facilities. Hopefully one day the hub will grow and cater for more people.
Considering this place is maintained by volunteers the trails are in amazing condition
Also good to enter the PMBA enduros here if you fancy something different
What do you like?
Plenty of scope for taking children here - the blue is nice and smooth and had a lot of work done recently. Also a pretty extensive skills loops.
The infamous hully gully has been maintained recently and is in excellent condition...not for the faint hearted
There are some really good DH facilities that the trail fairies have been working on (full face helmet required)
Gisburn is good because if you are short on time it is quite easy to just complete the bottom loop- it is clearly sign posted.
Has spotless toilet facilities and a cafe
Red route is a very teccy route - so if you like your gnarly stuff this is the place for you. There are also smoother sections such has the hope line which is definitely smile on your face stuff
