Fun for all abilities
If you've never been to Gisburn its well worth the trip. I have ridden Gisburn five or six times now and always had a good time. The car parks are in good order and cheap ( £3 for all day parking ). The toilets are also well maintained. I have very little experience trail riding after switching from road riding but Gisburn is an ideal introduction. The blue route is suitable for beginners and younger riders a like. I have read reviews saying the blue route is too short and after a couple of rides it does seem over quickly but due to the circular nature it's easy to do more than one lap. Stepping up to the red sections there seems to be a marked jump in ability with sections being more technical and requiring better fitness levels and better technique on the bike. Saying that I really enjoy the red sections and while pushing me nothing is too difficult or beyond the abilities of the average rider. I can't comment on Hope Line or the black sections having not ridden them yet ( other than Hully Gully which was fun and much steeper than it looks on you tube.. ) but they do look fun. There is a excellent group of volunteers who do a fantastic job of building new trails and maintaining the existing trails. Overall Gisburn offers a good mixture of well maintained trails that will put a smile on begginers and experts alike .
