HOT TRAILS COLD COFFEE

Great trials, shit trail centre cafe, which has too much potential.

What do you like?

Trails are excellent, the black run is great fun, with a huge variety of terrain and features. I personally like to session the Hope line a bit before continuing and there is some lovely sections at the top of the quarry. I think Gisburn is my favourite trail centre just because of what it packs in in a couple of hours ride.

What could be improved?

Trails are ace, Gully is a mess and there could be more drainage in the first berms as you'll be wet through within 5 minutes of your ride but this is mountain biking. I can live with that. The cafe, although convenient is a huge discredit to the trail centre. We ordered sausages sandwiches, to the tune of nearly a fiver, I get it, its a captive audience and you pay a premium. But they were terrible. Tiny sausages and huge cuts of bread. 6 of us ordered and we all felt ripped off. The coffee was also not good. How do you mess up pouring hot water through beans? Another occasion I have had to sit outside as the owner or whoever wanted to sit on her laptop taking up a full table (there is only 4) and when asking if the pressure washer was working, we were told it is broken and they are waiting for the Forestry Commission to fix it. They charge a quid a go to use it, buy a new one for £60, then another one for spare and it would pay for itself in a day, keep people happy and their cars clean and would make money, and more importantly not piss people off.

Would you recommend?
