Cardinham Woods
Cardinham Woods has been a regular family day out for a number of years now. The trails through the woods are a great place to walk or cycle with my wife and my 9 Year old daughter.
This year we have been concentrating on improving my daughters off road skills and find that the Bodmin Beast is an excellent place to do this. Each time we go we take her on a different section (approx 1 - 1.5 km) of the blue route trail as part of our ride. Her riding has improved enormously and she thoroughly enjoys completing each section and often asks to do it again. I regularly ride the Bodmin Beast (1 or 2 times a week) and enjoy it more each time. The track drains well when it rains and the trees provide good protection from the wind and more recently, the sun . The cafe does a nice coffee and provides a convenient rest stop between circuits.
What do you like?
Well maintained track with plenty of passing points (or rest stops if you fancy a gentler ride) and a good balance of climbs and descents along with some nice technical sections.
Good cafe and car parking.
Some great walks for when you banjax the bike.
What could be improved?
It can get pretty busy on the weekends so parking can sometimes be a tad awkward but always possible.
Would you recommend?
*Yes*
