Excellent use of what is quite a small woodland area in a valley
Took bike for holiday in Cornwall, after first day with a stead ride down the camel trail followed by a lap of the blues at Lanhydrock trail centre, I was not expecting anything more than a few steady tame trails, could not be more wrong!
The Blue bodmin beast is probably closer to an average Red trail at other centres! After the first mile or so of a good solid climb up I was loving the flow around the next 4-5 miles of undulating singletrack mixed in with a few sections of firetrails.
Very tranquil, beautiful scenery set near an old mine in the wooded valley. Also recommend the longer trail walk that takes in some stunning views. (Combine all the trails to get about a 7-8 mile route with a few sharp climbs).
Best mountain biking that I know of in Cornwall, will certainly be visiting again next time I am down that way on!
What do you like?
Blue nice and progressive, warms up into some nice following technical descents
2x reds for more adventurous (read as extremely fit for Hells teeth climb!)
Bodmin beast just the right length to get a couple of laps in
Car Parking reasonable at £2 for 2 hours or £3 for all day
What could be improved?
Hells teeth (20% avg climb!) needs very low gearing, 1x10 setups will probably be pushing!
No full dedicated Red trail only 2 diversions off the Bodmin beast trail
Would you recommend?
*Yes*
