Singletrack Nirvana

More singetrack than you could ever hope for. Very little fire road makes this one of the most engaging trails I've ridden. Some of it fast and flowy, some of it tricky and technical, all of it fun. The last few descents make sure you finish the ride with a smile on your face.

What do you like?

A very high percentage of singletrack. Holds up well to the weather. Lots of engaging trail sections. Doesn't seem to get busy.

What could be improved?

There's so little fire road, you have to actually stop to admire the views! There are no facilities on site, if you like that sort of thing.

Would you recommend?

Yes

Tidy trail tucked away in Wales

I visited on a pretty hot day in the summer and did the combined loop. Part of the single track was shut due to forestry operations was a shame so I'm keen to go back and ride it when it's all open. The climbs aren't too severe and there's a good mix of single track descents and single track rolling trail. The trail group due a really good job here and were busy trimming back the undergrowth which was threatening to take over the trail in a few areas due to the dry summer and a lot of growth. There's no facilities there and at time you do feel like your in the arse 'ole end of nowhere so make sure you've got a phone or are riding with someone as if anything goes wrong it may be a while before help gets there. One thing that I really did like was that despite the fact that the car park wa full I only saw two other riders out on the trail. It was almost like having the place to yourself.

What do you like?

Well maintained trails. Variety of single track.

Bit Slabby but a natural feel

Single track for the descents keeps the fun factor high. The majority of the climbing is on fire road to allow banter with your mates. EDIT Now ridden both loops, had only ridden loop one before.

What do you like?

Climbs are steady, and the descents flowing. Not too "park" good natural feel. Proper mountain biking, can tell its volunteer rather than contractor built (a good thing)

What could be improved?

No real facilities, just a car park.

Would you recommend?

Yes

Penmachno my favourite of all.

Natural atmospheric quiet trail with EVERY uphill rewarding you with a Great challenging downhill that can get you out of breadth on the way down!. Stunning views. Narrow and rough not like these artificial trial centre's with their ironed out rollercoaster type sections. The fitter you are the more you will enjoy it!

What do you like?

every uphill gives you a downhill section that is very satisfying. Nice long trial doing loops 1 and 2 good work out and challenging wet or dry!. And the views are stunning, nice and quiet. Ive marked up the skills develpoment as the trial itself is challenging and will test and improve your skills rather than that it has facilities for skills practice because it does'nt.

What could be improved?

no facilities...but who cares this is mountain biking as it is supposed to be!!

Would you recommend?

Yes
