What do you like?
Living in south London, we're restricted to Swinley Forest and the Surrey Hills (which are both great), but they simply don't compare to the sheer variety of trails in Llandegla's rugged estate. On a trip to Chester I took the bike and tried Llandegla for the first time on a sunny May weekday and it was an absolute hoot. Stayed an extra day just so I could return the next day. Bit of a lengthy climb to the start of the twisty stuff, but you're surrounded by epic views and it's a great experience in its own right. Such a great variety of trails - it's got it all - rocky, fast downhill, jumps, drops, northshore and a great skills area that's great for warming up. Some brutal short climbs, especially towards the end, but all part of the fun. I will definitely be back.
What could be improved?
None at all - I was disappointed to see people parking in the lay bys just before the car park, presumably to avoid paying for parking. £4.50 for such a great day out is an exceptional bargain and perhaps they don't realise they need to fund the upkeep of the trails from somewhere.
Would you recommend?
Yes
