One of my favourite trail centres
What do you like?
A fast flowing, well built trail centre with a great cafe and Bike Shop. Llandegla has got to be one of my favourites, Just get that first climb done and it is grin after grin all the way round. It seems to defy logic being the only place I've felt that you descend more than you climb!
The black options on the red trail are nowhere near as severe as some places, they're fast flowing with small jumps that are only made as severe as you want to take them because the speed you can pick up approaching them. Definitely worth the crack but you do have to do a small but steep climb to rejoin the red route, but trust me it is worth it!
Another optional Black section is the B line which has just been rebuilt after wind damage earlier this year. I was a bit dubious of this the first time with its huge sign suggesting I would be in hospital shortly afterwards but again it isn't bad for a black section even on my hardtail. Another must do that will put a big fat grin on your face!
This place does get busy but the car park is big with overflow area and the food I've had at the cafe has been really good.
What could be improved?
The first 3 mile gentle climb is quite open and can get very windy. Just keep your chin up because at the top you descend in to the trees where the wind will disappear!
Would you recommend?
Yes
