Description

Antur Stiniog is a Downhill MTB centre in Blaenau Ffestiniog, North Wales. There are 14 DH tracks covering all grades from green, blue, red, and black varying from 1.2 - 2.5km in length. There is also a Pump/ Jump Park. All set in rocky, slate-packed, rugged, and open terrain. There is a visitors' centre, cafe, bike wash, shop, and showers. Make sure you book the uplift in advance.

Like this?

Antur Stiniog is a full-on downhill centre with uplift. The set up is a minibus uplift service with spaced trailers to protect your bike. Also, the tracks are built to cover those just getting into Downhill through to the hardcore advanced rider.

Plug and Feathers (Green)

  • The beginner trail - 2km of flowing beautiful single track

Shaft (Blue)

  • Track with a series of berms and twists that take you the way down back to the pickup point

Jymapr aka Jumper (Blue)

  • A smoother entry-level Blue run and blue grade trail aimed at the novice Dh rider. You will find flowing turns and singletrack. Less steep and longer than the other tracks. F2 sections before giving you the option to join the green or a red at the mid-way point. Fun for all levels also and can be ridden on a trail bike.

Wildcart (Red)

  • The Wildcart DH, Freeride run is steep with berms, rocks, step downs and jumps. It flows, is fast and is said to be rideable on a 6-inch travel bike.

Scrubadub (Red)

  • A track with berms and jumps and enters into Wildcat at a fast speed.

Drafft (Red)

  • The Drafft Red DH / Freeride has a steep roll in through the opening berms, followed by corners, berms, jumps and step downs. Again rideable on a 5-6 inch travel bike. Slightly less technical than the Wild Cart above as all features are rollable.

Detonator (Red)

  • A more natural unsurfaced trail with plenty of ‘airtime’

Meehhh Line (Red)

  • This is the main jump line with 30+ jumps (all rollable)

Y Du aka The Black (Black)

  • The Y DU black downhill run is fast and is peppered with gnarly steep rock sections throughout. The trail is also littered with jumps, berms and is very steep. This is the most technical track on offer here.

Black Powder (Black)

  • Black Powder (black) downhill run DH run shares the top 50m of Y DU but then goes down around the other side of the hill. Again rock sections and jumps define this trail.

Bendy-G (Black)

  • 400 metres with 20 turns (hence the name). Built to offer riders a dirt track. Very twisty it branches off Black Powder from the bottom bridge

Re-Powder (Black)

  • Branches off Black Powder and offers a burlier option with a committing rock drop.

Field Jumps (Black)

  • These are the biggest jumps on site take you back to the pick- up point.

Pump Track

  • Jump circuit located near the car park.

Antur Stiniog, best DH Centre in UK

I came here from riding XC and managed the Blues and Reds on a trail bike. Got a lesson from Adrian, which in itself is harder to do than any Double Black and have never looked back. You can do all the routes on All Mountain bikes but will definitely benefit from a full on DH bike. You can ride in most weathers and there is no BS whatsoever. Turn up, ride and ride. I've done 16 runs in a day, there's always an uplift waiting when you get to the bottom. The guys are super friendly and helpful. Great food and big helping for hungry bikers. I've ridden here in rain, snow, sideways gales, searing hot temperatures and hail the takes your skin off, all in one day, but the hill dries quickly and is ready whenever you are.

What do you like?

Best in UK. Great trails. Lots of variety in grades and type. Fast and efficient uplift (BPW take note, your uplift sucks!). Great Cafe. Bud.

What could be improved?

Could be closer to my house. Still can't do the big drop off!

What do you like?

Antur stiniog is an awesome DH park. It caters for all levels and has a super fast uplift. The slate in the area makes for great drainage so even in bad wether can't hinder you. There are great fasilities too. With food, toilets bike store. Even a bike wash. Antur is a must for all mountain bikers.

What could be improved?

There aren't any really. Can get a bit windy at times, in certain spots.

Currently my favourite place in the UK

Great place to ride as long as it isn't too windy.

What do you like?

Loads of facilities and variations of riding. Even their own photographer! Great fun every time I've been riding all the lines. Worth the long drive from Bedfordshire hands down. Up there with revolution bike park for sure. Great food and wash facilities, lots of parking.

What could be improved?

If it's windy you're doomed haha.

Enough said 5 star all the way down the line.

What do you like?

I Ride at Antur with my 12 year old son ,he loves the buzz on the trails everybody at the center cannot do enough for you they make you feel very welcome and are keen to give you pointers on which trail will suit your abilities best, and you should listen I learnt that lesson pretty quick. The facilities are are excellent clean toilets and shower, bike rack and power wash for the bike after your day on the trails . The cafe and food is excellent very quick and clean and great staff also a large TV to watch some more Downhill just in case you didn't get enough on the mountain. The up lift drivers are a great laugh and full of stories and knowledge get in the front seat and chat away. So in all a great day or weekends venue for Downhill get a day booked and get rippin.

What could be improved?

None .Mint , If it was free that would be nice.
