Antur Stiniog is a full-on downhill centre with uplift. The set up is a minibus uplift service with spaced trailers to protect your bike. Also, the tracks are built to cover those just getting into Downhill through to the hardcore advanced rider.

Plug and Feathers (Green)

  • The beginner trail - 2km of flowing beautiful single track

Shaft (Blue)

  • Track with a series of berms and twists that take you the way down back to the pickup point

Jymapr aka Jumper (Blue)

  • A smoother entry-level Blue run and blue grade trail aimed at the novice Dh rider. You will find flowing turns and singletrack. Less steep and longer than the other tracks. F2 sections before giving you the option to join the green or a red at the mid-way point. Fun for all levels also and can be ridden on a trail bike.

Wildcart (Red)

  • The Wildcart DH, Freeride run is steep with berms, rocks, step downs and jumps. It flows, is fast and is said to be rideable on a 6-inch travel bike.

Scrubadub (Red)

  • A track with berms and jumps and enters into Wildcat at a fast speed.

Drafft (Red)

  • The Drafft Red DH / Freeride has a steep roll in through the opening berms, followed by corners, berms, jumps and step downs. Again rideable on a 5-6 inch travel bike. Slightly less technical than the Wild Cart above as all features are rollable.

Detonator (Red)

  • A more natural unsurfaced trail with plenty of ‘airtime’

Meehhh Line (Red)

  • This is the main jump line with 30+ jumps (all rollable)

Y Du aka The Black (Black)

  • The Y DU black downhill run is fast and is peppered with gnarly steep rock sections throughout. The trail is also littered with jumps, berms and is very steep. This is the most technical track on offer here.

Black Powder (Black)

  • Black Powder (black) downhill run DH run shares the top 50m of Y DU but then goes down around the other side of the hill. Again rock sections and jumps define this trail.

Bendy-G (Black)

  • 400 metres with 20 turns (hence the name). Built to offer riders a dirt track. Very twisty it branches off Black Powder from the bottom bridge

Re-Powder (Black)

  • Branches off Black Powder and offers a burlier option with a committing rock drop.

Field Jumps (Black)

  • These are the biggest jumps on site take you back to the pick- up point.

Pump Track

  • Jump circuit located near the car park.

Other Stuff

  • You can check out the Facebook group here
  • Antur Stiniog is based in an old slate quarry and is run as a social enterprise.

Something for everyone

Such an awesome place- one of the best run uplifts in the country. I managed 16 runs all day and I missed a few for food/mechanicals

What do you like?

- Fast, efficient uplift - Tracks are wicked, the blue run is so much fun! - Good online booking system. - Nice cafe! - Good value uplift. - friendly staff

What could be improved?

- Fairly big step up from red to black run I thought - some sections lethal in the wet (slick slate rock) - Open hillside isn't too pleasant in heavy rain/wind.

Would you recommend?

Yes

This is one of the best places too have fun with your friends and have a laugh with your mate and have friendly banter or get some serious training done. To top it off I got 19 runs in with only one mini bus, and the trails ain't sort neither. For a top class, fun and friendly uplift this is one of the best around!!

Antur Stiniog On A 6 inch bike

I came to Antur Stiniog having not done that much Downhill for years except a blast last the summer in the Alps. These days I mainly do technical trail riding focusing on reds and blacks. I has heard Antur Stiniog was progressive by nature and had heard only awesome things so I thought lets give it a go. I came with my 6 inch Santa Cruz Butcher and found the whole place and the local folk I met frankly totally awesome. I spent the morning sessioning the Blue Drafft run and then the afternoon the Red. The Blue is fast and flowing with a number of small drops, berms and rocky sections along the way. For clarity a Blue downhill is not the same as a Blue XC. It is a real step up technically. Also this is a Blue with Red features (it shares the end with the Red trail) and the rocky wooded shute near the end definitely feels Red by nature and will keep your wits about you as you need to carefully choose your line. The Red Wild Cart run starts by the Blue and is steeper, tighter and with looser slate and a few surprises (bigger drops). Half way through or thereabouts it joins the last sections of the Blue. The quarry slate nature gives an open and exposed feeling and adds neatly to the endorphin fuelled DH psychy rattling of your brain from the first run onwards. I'm guessing the slate nature of the terrain also means maintenance and erosion will be minimal. Although breaking bumps are forming on the last few hundred feet as riders I guess are getting tired. The uplift is great value for money and super efficient with three carriers so you never wait long. They say you can get around 15 runs in and if you have that level of extreme energy then respect (and that is great payback for your dosh). Had a very quick play on the jump park which is all rollable, very fast and I think for serious jump junkies is pretty advanced. Will I be back? "def"

What do you like?

- progressive skills development built into it's DNA - awesome tracks that are about going down and then repeat. - enough choices that it is not over congested so you don't feel pressure - rocky feel - friendly DH vibe - Great uplift service that is value for money - run as a social enterprise by the community for the community

best uplift service in UK?

Most uplifts you'll get 8-12 runs in a day - here I got 19!

What do you like?

Vast numbers of runs in a day due to super efficient uplifts, 4 tracks so even when all 12 in the minibus start at the same time you still dont have traffic issues. Real progression through blue-red-red/black-double black trails.

What could be improved?

All tracks are similar in style, rocky quarry style as thats what it is!

Would you recommend?

Yes
