Amazing place!
Perfect location, really well worth day out!
What do you like?
Good variety of trails with a bike park skills make it the cherry on the top of the cake, which can be accessed in the middle of The Wall. There's a shortcut to ride just the best DH part of this trail and also a car park near by. The trail have a good natural feeling with loads of singletrack and can be ridden all year around.
What could be improved?
A little bit of more maintenance would be appreciated, specially to cover some of the paddles in the Zig Zags.

Afan - massive
I was going to wait till I had had time to do all of what Afan had to offer before reviewing but it wont be this year and I can always edit as I learn more.
I thought the terrain and area covered by Afan was huge, which is good. Plenty of trail options, easily enough for an entire weekend there. I based myself at the top 4X trail rather than the cafe at the other end - but then that makes a nice point to aim for for refreshments. The Cafe was ok, not too daft on price and decent enough grub. I think I had beans on toast and a brew great biking combination.
With the loose rocks of "blade" you need decent tyres, but a nice mix of wooded and unwooded bits with good views. Really want to go back and ride all the options over 2-3 days to get a proper view as I'm sure I missed some good stuff. Hills seemed to drag but the descents were long and flowing, I thought that there was scope to have a few shorter steeper descents too to mix it up.
I did it in baking hot sun but it looked good for all weathers.

What do you like?
It's just awesome. Fill you your day with a variety of technical, natural trail, single track, rock, mud, wind, rain, sun and sweat.
Not to mention fear adrenalin and pure joy.
What could be improved?
Breath taking views can cause high speed deviations from the trail!

What do you like?
Thank god it has reopened there is nothing better than and early morning ride to wake the body then swopping down 'Big Dipper' than blasting down 'Sidewinder' and 'Dead Sheep Gully'. No matter what the weather is like wet or dusty you can have a blast, and if your a beginner rider to the world of mountain biking then it is good to teach yourself have to ride before hitting any of the other trails in the Afan Valley
What could be improved?
Bike envy at all the other nice bikes you would like to ride round the trails that you see cGoing around the trails
