In winter and summer the Afan Valley as a lot to offer. In the winter warm your hands after a bike ride in front of the log fire in Afan Lodge in the summer sit on the decking of the Afan Lodge or the cafe at Glyncorrwg, Afan Argoed and splendour the views. The Afan Valley as a lot to offer from the most experienced mountain bike rider to a family cycle ride. Lots of facilities from toilets to showers in all the centres and plenty of accommodation in the Valley, information can be found on this site. A good starting point for families is the Rhyslyn car park. This is a free car park with a tarmac cycle track that goes through the stunning valley of the Afan passing Afan Argoed and Afan Lodge. The cycle track was built on a disused railway line so no big hills to climb for families; you can look this up in the sustrans map route 887. Not too far from the Rhyslyn car park is the Afan Valleys new green trail “Rookie”. This is graded easy and is 5.5km long. So all in all this valley as a lot to offer all levels of riders.
