Great Introduction

Been going since built and it has bedded really well and the kids bike skills have improved greatly. Just wish my nerves could keep up with the kids.

What do you like?

Excellent for children and beginners. Superb surface Pump track is a great facility and the kids really love it.

What could be improved?

You have to cross over one of the trails to reach the pump track.

Superb trails for all

Very grateful for the facilities

What do you like?

Fantastic and easy to get to trails. Handy having Tarland village shops and amenities right next to the trails. Trails are well marked for cycling and for walking. Free leaflets were great and good to have a donation post box. My 2.5 year old son enjoyed the pump track and rode part of the blue trail twice with ease. Great for all ages.

What could be improved?

None.

Good Quality but needs more!

Tarland trails should cover a larger area with longer trails which allow for a whole day out on the bike. Currently I cannot see why many people would travel large distances to visit the park. If there were an expansion similar to the likes of Glenlivet in size (a number of longer trails) we could see an increase in tourism as Scotland and the rest of the UK are lacking hugely in trail centres alone. The expansion of Tarland trails would be great for the North East cycling community (& the rest of the UK). More people would travel to the area, boosting the use of facilities in and around Tarland.

What do you like?

The trails at Tarland are well maintained and of a high quality. They are absolutely fantastic for beginner riders looking to learn the core skills of mountain biking along with the more intermediate rider who is competent with small, flowing jumps and looking to become more confident in the "park" riding aspect of mountain biking. The trails are well thought out and flow nicely through the forest. The jumps are relatively small which allows for progression to the less experienced biker. Good sized car park Good facilities in Tarland itself Easy ride (push?) up Family Friendly

What could be improved?

Overall the trails are too small and too easy for the more experienced rider. They lack in the technical aspect of mountain biking and mainly focus on the flow and jump trails which are not challenging enough for many riders. Needs toilets.

Much needed all-weather skills centre for the NE

Overall I have been very impressed with Tarland. I always recommend it for beginners as there's ample opportunity to practice basic skills. Additionally it's brilliant to have an all-weather surfaced riding venue closer to Aberdeen.

What do you like?

All weather surfacing, pump track, fun flowy trails with well designed corners, easy parking, fantastic venue for beginners or more advanced riders looking to practice their fundamentals.

What could be improved?

Only a couple of minor points. Some of the jumps and rollers on the Orange trail could do with a rethink. The jumps are too small at speed leading to overshooting; this could be solved by lengthening them or making the lips more pronounced so that you are sent upwards rather than forwards.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*

Family fun

Love it☺

What do you like?

The location and setting is amazing. The trails are great for all levels on the bike and the close proximity or the perimeter trail and nearby walking trails are great for exploring the area (we walk the dog around about while the kids do the trails. Don't forget the tarland way to aboyne. Great day trip there and back.

What could be improved?

Bit of a hike from aberdeen. Could you move them? Oh and unless i've missed it, tarland is a bit thin on good coffee shops... shop in the square is good for a cup of instant joe tho.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
