Absolutely fantastic trails. I've been lucky enough to ride trails / bike parks in many places, and the design and build quality of Tarland Trails is world class.
The trails seem to grow with your progression as rollers are first pumped, but then become doubles as your speed and skills increase. Blues are super flowy, with no pedalling, as you pump the trails, but easily become adrenaline pumping if you kick it up a notch or two.
Reds can all be rolled, so no fear if building up your abilities, but, as with the blues, singles become doubles and rock "gardens" become drops as speed is dialled up.
The quality of the build is also great. despite being less than a year old over the winter months, the trails held up very well. There is also a great community / user response to trail maintenance days and dedicated trail "fairies" that monitor and repair the trails.
There are a great variety of trails, especially considering how new the centre is, with new trails already planned and already in construction. There are loads of natural trails in the area, so it's fantastic to have bike park type trails in the area that have a variety of blue flow lines, blue / red / black jump lines, open higher speed reds, tight twisty bermed reds etc.
Facilities are good, considering it's a new venture, and plans are afoot to build on the early success of the trails with more facilities.
It's clear to see this is a well planned and supported project with an exciting future.
