Lochore Meadows Bike Trails

Green Trail

  • The green trail is 6km long and goes around the Loch. It is perfect for beginners, kids, and all ability levels of bikes.

Blue Trail

  • The blue trail is 5km long and starts at the O.E. Centre with the Castle Loop, then heads North to join the Bogey Trail and Nearly Knarly Nelly, which takes you past the Golf Course. After this, cross the road and give the Benarty Brae pump track a go. Link with Chapel Chase by the AllAbility Trail, which will take you to Lindsay’s Loop.

Red Trail

  • The Red Trail is just 0.5km long and is a short section in White Wood with drops and rock gardens.

Skills Loop

  • The skills loop has a range of rocky elements, north shore sections and berms and rollers.

Adaptive Flowtrail

  • Scotland’s first purpose‑built adaptive flowtrail, designed for side‑by‑side bikes, trikes, tandems, and wheelchair bikes. Adaptive bike hire available year‑round! 1 km in length and an easy grade.

White Wood Bikepark

  • White Wood Bike Park consists of a range of tabletops and a red Rockzilla run with drops and rocky sections. There is a small pump track and a 4X track. There is a blue swoopy Downhill run. Visit White Wood and tackle Rockzilla.

Other Stuff

  • Adaptive bikes are available all year round at Lochmore Meadows. Best to book in advance.
  • Facilities include a Bike Wash, Repair Station and a Group Shelter.
  • In March 2017, approximately 4 km of additional blue trails were added to the trail, including Scotland’s first Adapted Bike Trail, which has been designed and built for side-by-side bikes and trikes.
  • In December 2025, it was announced that there were plans to extend the network by a further 2295 metres into Harran Hill woodland.

  • The track was built in the previously disused woody strip at the edge of a local authority park situated between local housing, which has been deemed an area of deprivation. This £50,000 community regeneration project was built using both contractor and strong local volunteer support.
  • The skills area won a UK-wide youth engagement award presented by Gordon Brown.
  • The bike park continues to host rounds of the Scottish XC MTB series and has recently hosted the British series
  • Supported by Sport Scotland Cycling Facilities Fund, Fife Environment Trust, and Fife Council, ensuring long‑term investment in the site

Lochore Trails

Short but well worth a visit or two. A welcome wee addition to biking in Fife. Try it.

What do you like?

Excellent bad weather venue. Really good for developing XC skills especially bike control. Very twisty and a suprisingly good pump if ridden hard. Great for learners and for training. Makes a nice afternoon visit, nice venue by the loch. Really great for locals and Id say it is worth a visit now and again for those further afield, even better if you team it up with another activity on offer at the Outdoor Centre. Nice one!

What could be improved?

Bit short but if you ride it a couple of times well worth it. No downhill, so cant really develop that skill. Ride back along the lochside to centre is pretty but not really in keeping with rest of trail and can be busy with prams, dogs etc. But hey, its a country park and that should be expected.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
