The Scottish Cross Country Association (SXC) has recently announced its race calendar for the 2025 season. The upcoming year introduces several changes to the racing format, aiming to improve the experience across all skill levels, from newcomers to experienced racers.

Updated Two-Day Racing Format
A change for the 2025 season is introducing a two-day racing format.
- Saturday Events:
- XC Short Track races
- "Little Rippers" races for all under-12s
- Sunday Events:
- Traditional XCO (Cross-Country Olympic) races
This structure aims to reduce course congestion, providing riders with more space on the trails.
Five Established Venues
The 2025 season will feature five well-known race venues:
- Cathkin Braes
- Glentress Forest
- Kinneil Estate
- Tarland Trails
- AE Forest
British Series Collaboration at Glentress
Round 2 of the SXC series will be combined with the British series at the Glentress trails. This collaboration offers Scottish riders the opportunity to compete alongside a wider field of participants and experience racing at a national level.
Introduction of the Special Stage
A new feature for 2025 is the Special Stage, a timed segment incorporated into the lap. This will focus on some of the more technical sections of the course, allowing riders to compare their times with others.
