Description

Tignes-Val d’Isère Bikepark is packed full of mountain biking trails that are great for downhill, XC and freeride. There are 3 green, 11 blue, 7 red, and 4 black MTB trails as well as a bike park. It is based in the Tignes Val d’Isère mountain biking region in the French Alps.

It's well served by chair lifts which are both modern and free to use. It has one of the longer transits from the nearest airport which is Grenoble (2.5 hours away).

Great hidden gem of the Alps

What do you like?

I went to Tignes in 2013 with a couple of friends as my first trip abroad with the bike (not counting Scotland) Not knowing what to expect at all, it was amazing to arrive and have a lift right by our apartment in Tignes, and the trails were not busy at all, yet in great condition and amazingly varied. We stuck mostly to the Blue graded trails in that we like to think we knew our limits, there was just one crash resulting in actual harm and that was in the skate park after a wine fuelled BBQ with the amazing locals in the centre of the town. but what a great night after a days riding. and we still made it out in the morning. The real bonus is that nearly every activity including the lift passes is free in Tignes which is unusual for biking in the alps. I keep trying to get back out there, but thins such as house buying and other trips take priority. Next year though, thats always the plan. brilliant, riding, food and people everywhere we went.

What could be improved?

It was a long drive home.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
