Trailmade:
Some good fun sections with a couple of good berms. Good for a few laps. The trail is quite flat and nothing particularly technical, but a fun lap overall. Worth the visit if you're in the area

terrible trail builders ruin decent ride
Do ride there regularly as the are some good bits of single track if you find some locals to ride with. Again, over the road in fine shade there are some good sections of you can find them. Just don't bother going if you expect the blue route to be up to much.
What do you like?
Somewhere to go in the winter when the ground is too muddy to do much else and you don't have time to go to Cannock or further. Great for beginners and those that don't like anything testing.
What could be improved?
Used to be a lot better when you had to use some skill to negotiate hazards, roots, holes, puddles, mud etc nice and tight twisting single track. Now all the trails are wide enough to confuse with the high street pavement. Some of the Banked corners are too tight and have no natural flow. Trail feels boring and dead, whomever is responsible for the new trails should not work again.

What do you like?
The official trail (Scartree) is short, but well armoured for all weathers and has some decent bermed sections to blast through - it's good for beginners and more experienced riders will still get grins out of it if they hammer round. The rest of Wakerley Great Wood has a fair amount of off-piste trails too if you keep your eyes open for them - if you like tight, twisty, wooded singletrack then there's a fair chance you'll enjoy a ride here.
What could be improved?
Not much gradient to work with - speed has to come from your legs rather than gravity, and the off-piste trails can be a bit of a lottery in wet weather (the ground is mostly clay-based and turns to slop or thick sticky mud pretty quickly). No real facilities other than a car park (although Fineshades Wood is a 5 minute ride away with a bike shop and cafe).

What do you like?
It is what you make it... for us locals it's a great area to keep up the fitness etc and can be fun if you push it down the berm sections. Good for beginners too.
What could be improved?
Not much variety or technical trails/features.
