Description

Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP) Mountain Bike Trails are just straight off the A3 in Hampshire, England, and have a blue, red Lite Blue, Skills area, a mini wheel kids track, and other natural trails around the area.

Like this?

The Red

  • This mountain bike trail is graded red and is 7.5km (4.6 miles) long. This is mostly single-track, a lot of which is off-camber, rooty and with some decent climbing and steep gradients. Expect some kickers, jumps and small drops.

The Blue

  • The blue is 6km (3.7 miles) long. It is an all-weather trail with 65% single-track with fun berms and rollers as well as blue and red drop options. Some of the singletrack sections are deerstalker, swoopy and lumberjack.

Wiggly Worm (Lite Blue / Green Track)

  • Just opposite where the blue final descent ends (the official end) there is a 300m but fun 'Lite Blue' / greengraded track.

Skills Area - Bike Base

  • There is a skills area and jump line at Benham Bushes (runs from the end of the Light Blue trail to the car park).

Kids Track - Bike Base

  • In March 2023 work also started on a new mini wheel, kids track for balance bikes by the Visitors Centre.

Natural Trails

  • The park is situated on the south downs way which runs through the middle of the forest. It offers great access to the rest of the South Downs. Two specific non-waymarked trails start in the park and lead out into the surrounding countryside. These use the rights of way networks and some public roads. Queen Elizabeth 16 km (10 miles), Meon Valley 16km (10 miles). For more information on these routes and others in Hampshire, a pack of 'Off Road Cycle Trails' is available from the Visitor Centre. There are also a number of downhill / enduro style natural trails around the area.

QECP has been my home for riding for many years, starting from casual riding with the occasional decent.. To a serious competitive DH/Enduro rider where every moment on two wheels is nothing but a thrill. You can ride the trails exactly how you want, fast or slow.. Once at the bottom, you'll certainly be grinnin'! Most of my free time is happily spent riding QE's epic trails, for me (and as I'm sure for you), it never gets old. Due to its great build, natural vibe, and welcoming feel (other than the occasional miserable old walker) I'll always be hooked! You'll end the day wanting more.. But you're ass would by that point, have had enough! Get involved and go see what you're missing out on! Happy shreddin'

What do you like?

Great fun for all levels of riding. Trails well maintained. Great for progressive riding. Based in an fantastic location. QECP Trail Collective - a great community. And many more.

What could be improved?

Some of the local walkers who believe it isn't a place for mountain biking. But don't let that ruin your day!

Would you recommend?

*Yes*

Coming up to three decades of development

I've been riding up at QECP for 26yrs, and it's now the most fun it's ever been with dedicated investment from the QECP Trail Collective I link up bridleways & Red & Blue Trails for a quick 90 minute loop, or include some cheeky trails when I want to mix it up a bit!

What do you like?

Blue Trails are accessible by anyone Red Trails are a step up, but an easy transition to more riding skills. All the trails are easy to interlink and you can form one big loop

What could be improved?

The winter mud Parking can be a pain, but you will find someon
