Awesome Hamsterley
Mostly built by volunteers who ride mountain bikes. Lots of variety in and around Hamsterley Forest; marked trails are well maintain and fun but there are also lots of other options.
What do you like?
The amount of downhill trails.
What could be improved?
Better visitor center.

Hamsterley Forest offers a great mix of mountain bike trails, from older, more natural singletrack with technical steeps to flowy, machine-built options. There's even a paid uplift service for those chasing downhill runs. The area is well-maintained, with new trails appearing regularly. Facilities and parking are solid, making it an easy and enjoyable day out—whether you're on an e-bike or a classic hardtail.
