What do you like?
The forest has miles and miles of single track and enough ups and downs to keep most types of mountain biker happy. It's especially good in the dusty summer months.
What could be improved?
The winter months can be a bit of a slog as the water doesn't drain very well and it becomes really boggy

A good mix for beginners and intermediates
Epping forest is one of the best locations for mountain biking in London, with nearly 6000 acres of forest stretching from Wanstead to Epping there are loads of trails that are suitable for beginner and intermediate riders.
None of the climbs are too intimidating, and with careful route choice some great descents can be found.
In the winter months trails can get quite muddy, this just adds to the fun.
What do you like?
Large variety of bridleways and singletrack that would suit intermediate riders, with some areas that can be used to work on skill development.
What could be improved?
Epping forest is on a ridge of London clay, this means that trails stay wet and suffer when the weather has been bad. The northerly parts of the forest do however dry quicker.
Finding good rideable singletrack is hard without local knowledge.

If you are looking for a great trail for beginners and fun for all riders wanting an xc blast then this is a brill one and a stones throw from the big smoke. Bit muddy if it's been raining (well very muddy)
