Great place to ride, I love the length of the course, long enough for a good summer evening ride. The black options are good but there could be a few more spaced around the run. Facilities for the minis are great and they love the place almost as much as me!
What do you like?
Great long xc type trail centre ride.
Trails are in decent condition for the amount of hammer they take.
Facilities are great for all the family
What could be improved?
First climb straight out from the car is a pain...you soon warm up
Few to many long fire roads when there seems to be space for a singletrack climb
Dalby Forest is on of Yorkshire's little gems, beautiful yet challenging terrain that is best explored on a MTB!
What do you like?
Great day out for both families and solo/group MTB'rs due to the size and choice of trails.
Good place for fitness training for the more serious MTB'rs to due to climbs.
What could be improved?
I can't think of any bad points about this place, it's a huge playground for MTB'rs, the only thing I'd say is - to get the most out of this place, you need to be reasonably fit so you can really explore Forrest.
Wonderful trial with the perfect balance of hills and descents. Suitable for intermediate riders with the black and green routes for everything else. I am on the the red routes most weekends and never gets boring. Trials are regularly maintained and as soon as you think a part of the track is worn next thing you know it's fixed up.

we set of a bit late in the day to do the full red route which was frustrating when we started to lose the light and decided to head back down the road. we did approx half the route and what we managed was very good. a lot of ups and downs as opposed to long drawn out climbs which was a nice change. the bike park about quarter of the way round at dixons hollow is a good fun break from the trails. i quite fancy giving the black lloop a run around as well at some point.
What do you like?
well built trails
very good facilities
so big it doesnt seem busy
What could be improved?
couple of areas needed better signage
car parking is a rip off
Dalby was the first trail centre I visited approximately three years ago. We started on the blue section and joined the red to complete a decent route. Since then I've been hooked. Most recently we did the red route in May 2013; my speedo suggested it was nearer to 41km than 37, either way it did feel like a long drag, but with enough variety to keep enjoyment levels up. The course is set up that you don't need to complete the whole lot in one go, there are escape routes signposted at every forest road to divert those struggling or suffering mechanical failure. Some black diversions are available on the long sections, enabling faster riders to overtake without incident. There are some steep descents.
The staff at Dalby Bike Barn are great and the quality of hire bikes is excellent- we attended an XC race there in early 2013 with my gf suffering a broken chain on her own bike prior to the start. She won on her hired Scott bike.
What do you like?
Miles and miles of well-signed trail- make up your own routes
Well maintained trails
Plenty of singletrack
What could be improved?
Pricey parking- £7 to drive on the forest road which gives access to all car parks
I go to Dalby when I want a long ride in rolling terrain. There isnt just 1 big hill you go up and down. Its a long lap too, once your knackered on the way back there is nothing to do but slog on. The last few up/downs in the last 25% are superb, but when your least on your game.
What do you like?
Long empty singletrack that just goes on and on and on :)
