Like this?

Red Route (21 miles, 34.3km)

  • This is made up of many short ups and downs of singletrack. There are drops, berms, rock gardens, and shore. The trail starts at Dixon's Hollow car park and Low Dalby. The Courtyard where the trail starts is in the village of Low Dalby one and a half miles from the entrance to the forest.

Jerry Noddle - Red Route (7 miles, 11.1 km)

  • Starts at Dixons Hollow car park, then from Moorcock meadow campsite it follows the escape route back to Dixons Hollow

Newclose Rigg - Red Route (6 miles, 9.6 km)

  • Fast single track through woodland, rock features, steep drop offs and large rocks. Start at Low Dalby, then at post 12 follow the escape route back to Low Dalby.

Riggs and Dales - Red Route (8.5 miles, 13.8 km)

  • An intense section of singletrack with technical climbs and descents. To start from Low Dalby, follow the 'Riggs and Dales' signs on the blue cycle trail.

Black Route (4 miles, 6.4km)

  • This is a World Cup course. It's short but has very steep climbs and-and custom carved also steep technical descents. The black trail starts from Adderstone Field which is approximately 5 miles along Dalby Forest Drive from Dalby Forest Visitor Centre and Shop.

Jubilee Blue Route (6 miles, 11km)

  • Start the trail from the central courtyard in Low Dalby. This trail is long but easy to ride on mainly forest roads. Some of the climbs and descents are quite steep. It also includes a couple of easier sections of the red route for rider progression.

Adderstone Cycle Trail - Green Route

  • A short couple of green family routes is also here. Start the trail from Dixon’s Hollow car park located next to Adderstone field. There is a short route: 8 miles (12.8 km) or a longer route: 12 miles (19.3km)

Ellerburn Trail - Green Route

  • The gentlest of trails at Dalby starting from the main cycling hub. 1.7 miles, with an optional 1.1-mile extension.

Cycle Skills Area - Orange

  • The bike park at Dixons Hollow with 4X, shore and a pump track. Here you can test your ability on sections of green, blue and red trails to determine you level, located near Low Dalby along the Ellerburn Trail.
  • There is an advanced pump track built in partnership between the Forestry Commission and volunteer group SingletrAction. It has large berms, doubles, rock drops and rollers.
  • The track has been built in memory of Clare Anne Woodall who was the lead volunteer for the SingletrAction Dalby group.
  • There is also a 100-meter-long line of tabletops on site.

Off-Piste

  • Like most other mountain bike trails you will find a selection of unsanctioned unofficial off-piste natural style tracks in the area.

Other Stuff

  • SingletrAction Volunteer Trail Building Group who work closely with the Forestry Commission to make all this possible.

A bit of something for everyone

Nearest centre for me and I love nothing more than to pop in for a ride. Loads of different trails and ways to go round. Plenty of cut throughs if you just want a quick hour and don't want to do the full 22 mile red. I've been impressed with the improvements to the blue route. Much more singletrack added which is just fun. The vc is large and well equiped. I'd recommend it to anyone

What do you like?

Plenty of mixed ability trails and able to do bits of each trails in shorter sections. Good facilities.

What could be improved?

Not enough downhill. Can get very busy in summer.

In general a great place to ride with awesome facilities and the staff are very helpful

What do you like?

My local trail dalby is a an xc trail but does have a good variety of elements to the trail a great place to ride to gain fitness because of the sheer size of the red trail (23 miles) also there are great facilities at the visitors centre especially after the revamp

What could be improved?

There are a few sections of trail that are getting a little tired on the red and maybe there could be a few more technical sections but for a network of trails the size of dalby the forestry commission do a great job maintaining also due to the sandy surfaces on parts of the trail it can be hard on drive trains in wet weather

Dalby Lincolnshires nearest grin factor

If you live in Lincolnshire like us, Dalby is an hour n halfs drive to a real trail centre where you can enjoy a Full day out

What do you like?

Lots of trail surfacing completed in 2016 which was well in need, when dry Dalby red route has around 24 miles of stony/ sandy hardpack with many areas resurfaced with raised hoggin to cope with drainage, also a nice swoopy bermy section of green added near the end of the red to jump onto for fun before the car park.

What could be improved?

Bad points only the weather can change like most places, sandy areas turn fast trails to grinding paste eating your drivetrain. The car park is way to expensive at £8 compared to other parts of the country but at least some of this cost has found its way to forestry commision maintaining the trails now

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
