I am part of the build team up here at Cockhill so my opinions might be a but bias but I love the place.
looking up the hill on the Freeride side if the forest at all the wooden gaps, drops and bridges with all the green moss hanging off the tall pine trees you could be in the north shore in Canada ..... Maybe not haha but it has a great feel to the place. Currently a new BIGGER Freeride line being built, dirt jumps being tidied up for the summer and a few more steeper and technical downhill runs in the pipeline.
What do you like?
The trails cater for a wide verity of rider ability levels.
It is rideable all year round due to the surfacing on the Red DH and Freeride trail.
Dirt jumps.
The Freeride lines are line nothing else in this part of the country.
Only a small area of the woods currently tapped into, 10 x the the area of where the current trails are is yet to be built on.
Friendly team of builders and local riders.
What could be improved?
Parking is an issue at the moment that we are aware of and have plans to rectify.
Toilet facilities are far from that of a 5 star hotel but at the end of the day we are mountain bikers, in a forest and the facility is still in its infancy.
For those fat lazy mountain bikers out there... There is not yet and uplift service.
Such great building here, loads of variety especially for the experianced. OK you have to push back up but its only a shortish downhill - just over 2 mins if your flat out so you can get plenty of runs in. Half way up is the hut with Waynes superb coffee to keep you going.

Great tracks, built well so that weather your new to DH or are a World Cup downhiller you can have fun.
