Description

Cardinham Woods Mountain Biking Trails are set in Bodmin, North Cornwall. Cardinham is a popular Forestry Commission Wood with a decent café and car park. They have a Blue MTB route with Red sections.

Like this?

Bodmin Beast (Blue with Red Sections)

  • The Bodmin Beast trail is a moderate ability 12km MTB trail (with Red sections). It has loads of single-track, a fair sharing of technical climbs and descents, tight bermed corners, small step downs, rollers and tabletops.
  • The Bodmin Beast trail also includes 2 additional (optional) Red sections. There is ‘Dialled-In Dave’ (0.9km) which is natural, flowing and pretty fast and then secondly ‘Hell’s Teeth’ (1.8km) which has a tough climb, is steep in places, has a number of technical features and a steep bermed final descent.

Multi-User Forest Roads

  • The woods also have a lot of gravel based forest roads that families can cycle through. These are multi-purpose so watch out for walkers, horse riders and dogs etc.

Groups and Clubs

Other Stuff

  • They are pretty close to the Gawton Gravity Hub DH track.

Family fun and more

Great to have a MTB trail in the county that provides a great introduction to trails but also provides more seasoned riders a challenge if you go at a pace.

What do you like?

Lots of areas to get off the trails and rest or allow others to pass, Great setting with cafe, toilets, parking and kids play areas. Smooth well looked after trails of around 12miles that can be used by all abilitys. First freindly trails in mid cornwall.

What could be improved?

The trails are still new and very popular so can be busy at weekends, but appart that there a great addtion to cornwall and hopefully these will progress to harder trails in the future.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
