quality MTB spot

Great morning riding. Well worth a visit. Relatively short (about hour and 20 mins) but downhills are fun and fast.

What do you like?

Great downhill sections. Fast and twisty.

What could be improved?

Very steep climb to final red section.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*

Bodmin Beast

A truely great ride highly recommend.

What do you like?

A great day out in fantastic setting. £3 to park all day. £25 all year visit as often as you want. I ride here twice a week sometimes more and I never get tired of riding this trail it is varied and some good hard sections. I am 53 years of age and it takes me around 40 miniutes I usually ride the trail twice. There are a block of toliets and changing room. There are also BBQ free to use well worth knowing. I will often ride and my family and inlaws go for a walk and we meet up later. The cafe is well worth a visit. I love the ride in the dry but just as much fun in the wet knowing you can change at the end. Sections of this ride are not for the faint hearted. I would highly recommend combining this ride with the Cycle Hub 15 miniutes drive away. Hub first Beast second if you want to get changed.

What could be improved?

I would not recommend the ride for a family the Cycle Hub 15 miniutes away much more suitable. The road entering Cardinham in narrow and some people drive with no consideration to others so be carful.

Definatly worth a visit if your down these parts on holiday

What do you like?

Cardinham Woods is actually alright - rode both the extended red and blue and both are well maintained. Red has lots of fast undulating parts so naturally went as fast as physically possible. Has potential for a lot more trails looking at the landscape. On a sunny day is pretty fun place to be - good views etc. Nice little facilities for food etc at this place. Family orientated. Good coffee.

What could be improved?

Bit of a drive to get there I guess.

What do you like?

Rode the beast for the umpteenth time 2 days ago and it never fails to put a grin on my face. Ok it's not that technical including all the reds but it's just good fun. In comparison to other centers I have ridden at it is up there with the leaders.

What could be improved?

Some hatchbacks are to tight.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*

What do you like?

Great venue for a quick fix, not to demanding or technical, dialled in dave (red) is worth doing to avoid the fire track. Hardly a red though. Hells teeth (red) is worth the effort if you like bursting your lungs to get to the start! A nice bit of quite steep down hill. I have done the whole circuit in about 50min's. including both Red sections. A great morning out and you can easily combine Cardingham with Llanhydrock which is just up the road. Good café and plenty of parking (£2 for 2 hours or £3 all day. Would like to see more technical features and a separate Red trail with some black sections. The track is in pretty good condition compared to other centres and no rooty bits!! so apart from my "bad points" below Cardingham is a great ride.

What could be improved?

Most of the switchbacks on the uphill sections are far to tight and ruin the flow. Some of the berms could do with being higher.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*

Great little trail

What do you like?

Rode the Bodmin Beast today with the red extensions. Great little trail, climbs all fairly moderate (except for the Hells Teeth climb). All nice and fast and felt a bit like Blue Scar at Afan in places. I would say that the 'Dialled in Dave' is a bit easy for its red grade, was more like a blue to me, but was nice and flowy with some fun little step ups to test your skills. I wouldn't bother doing the blue bit instead of 'Dialled' as it's mostly fire road going down hill! If you have got that far then 'Dialled' will be fine. Hells Teeth much more deserving of its red grade. The climb is nasty. I pushed about half of it! The downhill section is great, fast flowy bits and lots of tight switchbacks to test your skill. A great little loop just off the A30. Coffee and cakes at the cafe recommended, and there was even a fantastic mobile workshop from Trailmunki in the car park. Bled my back brake for me and adjusted my rear mech for a very reasonable £20.00. Will only be there at Weekends and half terms over the winter though.

What could be improved?

None, although not a technical trail.

Would you recommend?

*Yes*
