Description

The Oneplanet Adventure, Coed Llandegla Mountain Biking Centre Trails are near Wrexham in North Wales. It has four MTB trails covering green, blue, red, and black gradings. There are also off-piste options like Natural Selection. The center including the cafe, bike shop and hire is managed by Oneplanet Adventure.

Like this?

It also has a Skills Area, Bike Park, Dual Slalom run, and a Pump Track.

Red: 18km

  • The Red 18km trail shares the same climb through the forest with the blue trail. When it splits off at the top of the forest, the longer red route sends you on a series of more technical challenges, with singletrack, steep sections, bermed switchbacks, water crossings, tabletops, and boardwalk.

Black: 21km

  • There are a series of black runs (6km) that are accessible only from the Intermediate Route. Together, the red and black routes comprise 21km of trail. The black runs are steeper downhill stretches and they have much more challenging technical features like large steps, gaps, and drop-offs

Natural Selection - Off-Piste

  • Launched in April 2023 these are 4 technical natural feel (black graded) off-piste track options. Expect:
    - Narrow hand-cut singletrack trail
    - Exposed off-camber roots
    - Exposed bedrock and rock features
    - Tight steep corners
    - Natural, slippy surface
    - Steep shoots into narrow corners
    - Large drops (Inc the wallride at the end)

Blue 12km

  • The Blue is still 12km in length, and there is a gradual climb up through the forest until it splits with the Red, Route at the top of the forest. It is largely gradual downhill, interspersed with gentle uphill sections. This route also has a selection of small humps and other features to add a degree of challenge!

Green: 5km

  • A waymarked route of approximately 5km has been developed specifically with families in mind. The route avoids major climbs and technical sections and concentrates on allowing families to experience off-road cycling in a fun and safe way. The surfaces encountered on this route are mainly hard-packed but there are sections that are loose, uneven, or muddy at times. The route allows riders to ascend gently from the car park, through the forest, and onto the reservoir, with its views of the Clwydian Range. After cycling around the reservoir, the route meanders back through the forest before the final descent which sweeps down to the Visitor Centre.

Skills Area, Free Ride Area, Pump Track

  • Status update Dec 2025: The Skills Area, Pump Track and Freeride Zone at Coed Llandegla are currently closed following forestry harvesting near the visitor centre. The closure forms part of a planned rebuild, with the centre stating: “We’ve dreamed for a long time of creating a brand-new, next-level Skills Zone. The recent harvesting has made this possible, and we’re grabbing the opportunity with both hands.” Plans for the new Skills Zone include
    • a dedicated “Little Rippers” area
    • a coaching zone
    • new berms and drop-offs
    • new jump lines for a range of rider abilities

Dual Slalom

  • The dual Slalom has berms, jumps and bumps on near-identical tracks.

I Can't get enough of the Degla

This place is well worth the travel if you're coming from far away, make sure you allow enough time for the cafe after and take the Mrs some homemade bakewell tart back with you, always goes down a treat.

What do you like?

I'm very fortunate to now be able to call Llandegla my local trial centre. I've been attending now for the last couple of years and I've recently moved to the area (Llandegla had nothing to do with the choice of locations when considering the move, that's what the Mrs thinks anyway) I now call at least once a week and I never get tired of the place. The late opening on a Wednesday night in the dark have added to the excitement and the facility's on offer are ace! Great food, parking, bike wash, shop and staff make this place worth a visit alone. Then you've got the skills section with all you need to improve all round skills followed by the great trails, fast and flowing red sections with faster jumpy black sections. Blue route for a mega quick blast. Then you've got the climbs that kill you half way up but then reward you with that feel good satisfaction once you've reached the top. I can't get enough of the place and showing the lads round whenthey can make it over is always a pleasure. Great job being done by great people, keep up the good work those involved.

What could be improved?

Cant get the lads to travel over often enough!

Simply Great

Llandegla is simply the best, from the many great routes to the great and helpful staff. All abilities can have such fun on the routes from green through to black.
And of course the cake in the cafe is great.

One Planet Adventure - Llandegla

To One Planet Adventure - Keep doing what you do, you help people to have fun and provide a fantastic facility with a great atmosphere. I look forward to continued development of the trails and the centre , THANK YOUNote to visitors - Parking in the lay-bysI ask that people pay to park as it funds the trails, its £4.50 for the day, its hardly a fortune. I see cars blocking the lay bays and the same people expect to use the trails for free, its disappointing .. Help us to fund the continued development PLEASENote to visitors - LitterPlease don't drop litter when using the trails, i spend to much time picking it up during my time given to repair trails, the more litter thats dropped the less trail repairs that get done, its as simple as that  What are you all waiting for, get over to Llandegla and have a brilliant day

What do you like?

Well, in summary what a fantastic centre run by great people My experience of sharing the enjoyment: I have been riding at Llandegla for perhaps 7 years and the first impressions last, I was welcomed with a smile and was asked by staff at the end of my ride how it went, what an incredible first experience! I started with a lap of the blue trail and over time built my confidence and fitness and made my way up to the black trails. These days i ride all of the trails and each has its own value, then there's the skills area and pump track, you never get bored. The family atmosphere and simply first class service has been key to a positive lifestyle change for me and many of the people that I have met, I am now the person i want to be and I thank OPA for providing the enablement and so many opportunities to meet with people I'd never have met, many of whom are now great friends all because of the social capability provided Giving something back I am also a member of the trail pixies, helping to give something back by collecting litter and repairing trails once a month, as you can imagine my time off from work is valuable and i feel that by giving something back to the centre where i have found and continue to find enjoyment from is well placed. Onto the trails, there are many routes which can accommodate many hundreds of riders without any congestion issues. Each trail has its own thrills and there's something for everyone. There are running and walking trails too and non clash with one another, its well designed. Whilst i haven't written much about the trails, they are superb , get there and see for yourself, I have friends who travel 100+ miles to ride them ! need I say any more The cafe is second to none with great food and I mean GREAT FOOD, large slices of cake and an excellent menu with something for everyone, try it and you'll see that its far better than other trail centres, with not only excellent food but a great atmosphere too, you are NEVER feel anything but welcomed and at home, I haven't felt this in other centres. Late night Weds opening is great, in summer there's a BBQ outside and in winter great food inside, try a night ride its something different and is great fun Theres also a Bike Shop selling all you need from inner tubes through to clothing and bikes , oh and bike maintenance is available, on top of all of this there are events and top notch rider training and first aid courses available, basically it has everything Visit and see for yourself, you won't regret it, don't bring a downhill bike bring anything you like , there's enjoyment for everyone. Take your family for a walk or a ride around the reservoir or ride the excitement of the black trails, you'll love it. There's nothing that can't be rolled, however don't for one minute think that it's a walk in the park, its as much fun and excitement as you can ask for! What are you waiting for ? see you up there and say hello to everyone, it really is that sort of place , because the team have made it to be exactly that.

What could be improved?

Changing facilities. There are no showers at the moment but i hope to see further developments over the coming yea or two, whilst not a major issue it would be good to have improved changing facilities

very enjoyable

another great Welsh trail centre

What do you like?

Fast flowing swooping terrain makes for good fun. Not overly technical, and the blacks are really reds. Nice skills park too. good cafe. I like the way you get the big climb out of the way at the start, and then can enjoy the down.

What could be improved?

None really. Like most trail centres, the Bike Shop seems to only sell super-expensive exotica like Santa Cruz etc.

Would you recommend?

Yes
