Afan Forest. Everything you want. Big smiles.

This place gets better everytime i visit. The trails are easy to follow but you still feel miles from anywhere. If im looking for a weekend away riding MTB this place is my default trail centre.

What do you like?

Afan is the best. I have ridden here many times and always long to return. I have camped at Glyncorrwg which is a fantastic base for your adventures. It has all you need. Showers and food! If you want something more luxurious try Afan Lodge just up the road. Wonderfull place to stay. Great rooms with the best most powerful showers ever! Afan lodge has luxury of a hotel but the feel and friendliness of a local pub. Food is ace and is located in the middle of all the trails. Trails are ace and are ridable in all weathers. My fave is Blade and Whites Level. Lots of climbing but lots of downhill too. Sweet flowy trails and stunning views. I miss it already!

What could be improved?

Long drive from Hertfordshire. Thats not their fault though!!

Afan

I'm a local so this is my regular riding location. There's plenty here to mix up to keep me entertained, even riding here 2 or 3 times in a week. Newbies should look at Blue Scar and Penhydd. I like riding the Wall, Whites and Blade. If you've got time try W2 (Whites and the Wall together) or Skyline.

What do you like?

Variety of trails Car parking Well stocked bike shops Good food and drink Campsite

What could be improved?

A place for young and old...er

One of the best if not THE best place to cycle in the UK. You want regret it.

What do you like?

Great variety of trails ranging from the brilliant widowmaker (blue) to the blacks at glyncorrwg. Love the whites trail with a nice technical climb and ending with some brilliant runs at the end. My 6yr old has now started so the green is a great place to learn with a child friendly skills area.

What could be improved?

Genuinely can't think of any

Love Afan

Come to Afan it's fun!

What do you like?

I've been riding here for years and it's got something for everyone. The riding is varied and pretty natural feeling plus you can get that proper wilderness experience on the w2/Blade side. Lately I've been taking my kids there and it's brilliant fun on the Rookie and Blue Scar trails. Highly recommended!

What could be improved?

Nothing really. The cafe has now been taken over so the after ride facilities are good too.

Would you recommend?

Yes

Gotta go back

Organize a local club get some more community involving stop letting government agencies decide what should be done and start doing it yourself

What do you like?

As with any trail system much depends on the people that surround and maintaining. The trails in the towns were filled with warm loving people that are dedicated to cycling and what it is brought to the small lost part of the world. The trails were exciting well-maintained when you consider the amount of rain these people get I was amazed at the quality and the dedication that local bikers have taken to make this a return trip for me and my gang.

What could be improved?

Whatever government functionary decided to build a bike park at the top of a deserted mountain instead of making it within reach of the town really needs to have their head examined place was deserted and not really welcoming Why the government decided to do a trail center at the end of a dead-end town is beyond me as far as I'm concerned there are 3 Trail Center is in Athe why the government decided to do a trail center at the end of a dead-end talon is beyond me as far as I'm concerned there are 3 Trail Center is in AFan , The best one is privately run and has a great pub .
