If you are in the area for a few days then try Wagrain bike Park first for a warm up session, about 40mins drive away.
What do you like?
Full on, fun, fun, fun. I spent a year living in Schladming so couldn't resist the pull of the downhill (ski and MTB). As my first proper MTB downhill experience the Planai was a baptism of fire, but what a fire! The main trail is pretty full-on, takes a pretty direct line down the hill for 1100m of vert, has a good variety of conditions as you descend, plenty of jumps, banked corners, roots, rocks, switch backs, etc. Plenty of braking bumps later in the season, definitely best enjoyed on a downhiller. Ride-able in wet conditions, some muddy sections, but being quite steep mostly drys out pretty quick.
The newer trails such as the flow line are terrific, offering smoother man made flowing rides.
Always one or two mountain huts open at the top for a strudel and beer.
What could be improved?
Given the vert available a shame there's not more trails.
