Kranjska Gora – first bike park in Slovenia, (1,6 km; ski lift; hard and easy lines, good for learning – great if you are with riders with less skill)

Like this?

One of the main ski resorts in Slovenia, trails are well used/abused but there is enough to keep you going for the day. Unlike the rest of Slovenia this bike park is not as well maintained and much busier resulting in lots of braking bumps and trail wear. You can tell this was the first bike park with minimal work since then.

If you're in Kranjska Gora and you like MTBing, you'll have to spend some time at their downhill park. Kranjska Gora is a small town, so this place is easy to find. The best downhill mountain bike hire is at the base where you buy tickets for the park - knowledgeable and helpful staff.

What do you like?

Good fun. Inexpensive bike hire (come on, who takes their own to Slovenia?). Scenic.

What could be improved?

Trails aren't well maintained or particularly long.

Kranjska Gora

Worth a visit but really needs some maintenance, especially as its the premier ski resort in winter more investment could really make this place a winner. Maybe they will for 2015 .....
