Very realistic singletrack instead of the manufactured trails you find elsewhere. Very technical and twisty.
Good points:
Good realistic singletrack.
Excellent friendly bike shop.
Very attractive castle.
Free parking in winter.
Bad points:
Watch out for the slippy tree roots!!
Have to pay for parking in the summer.

Night+Wet+Mud=Fun
Went Night biking with my son aged 8. We did the blue, it was wet and muddy and he loved it.
On The final return up the drive we switched our lights of completely which was fun but
Good points:
Love how the blue and red shadow each other.
Well waymarked
Could roll down the newer section all day...great flow
Mud
Bad points:
Missing a skills area and or pump track to complete the Place.
Mud

Unique feel to this place
A great croute which adds variety to the UK mtb scene
Good points:
Really nice red route mostly through deciduous forest, which feels different from most trail centres i've visited i.e. Feels very 'natural'. As mentioned, it is very rooty indeed. Not especially difficult terrain, technically speaking (but tiring). However I rode in the dry but can imagine wet conditions to be challenging.
The castle surroundings add to the experience, and Rik from the eponymous bike shop was very informative and friendly.
Bad points:
Sometimes the forest route feels like you are riding in circles, but no big deal. I challenge any non-local to keep their bearings on this ride!
If you drive to castle car park you must pay £6, but shouldnt grumble about that.
