A new project is underway at Glentress. The spades have been hitting the earth since March, for the build of a new 450-meter black descent. This new piece of trail is a collaboration between the MTB Rangers (from Forest Enterprise Scotland), the Glentress Trailfairies volunteer trail builders, TweedLove and the local riding community. This is the first ‘spades in the ground’ collaboration between the groups so bodes well for future projects and the development of the iconic Glentress trails going forward.

So what we know so far is this descent aims to be both steep and super flowy in feel. No specifics as yet as to where this new section will be (more to follow) but we do understand the spot chosen has excellent soil conditions for building.

The plan is to have it dialled by the end of May in time for the Tweedlove International Enduro in June. To help them hit that why not get involved in their fortnightly dig days. You can find out details on the Glentress Trailfairies Facebook page.

As of Mid May they have built 350 metres with just 100 metres to go.

You can also head over to the full Glentress listing on the iBikeRide site where you can get full trail descriptions, see pictures, watch videos and read or leave a review. Also, check out the iBikeRide Index of the Top UK Trails whilst you are here to see where Glentress is ranked.
