Rocks & Rain

Rode here while on holiday in the pouring rain. Enjoyed it but missed out the steeper blacker sections like the slab as it was evening, I was on my own & grip was minimal. The trail was a good challenge and some of the steeper rocky drops with multiple lines...

Day out for all

Had a fantastic family day out while on holiday. Rode a mix of all the greens on a tag along with the 5 yr old (20km) and she loved it. Good variety of trails & amazing scenery. Rik of Riks bike shop was brilliant at getting the bike sorted and...

Mabie Red run

Had a good evenings ride here while away on holiday. Good first climb & a decent descent which maybe worth a few goes to get the speed right up. Liked the singletrack climbs and the section called descender bender and the one after (drop to the river) were fantastic. Flowy,...

Marin (riden same day as Penmachno)

Rode this the same day as Penmachno & enjoyed it albeit less. Decent first slog up the fireroad into a fast but shortish descent followed by another fireroad climb and descent which is typical of the whole route. The last descents were fantastic and made it all worthwhile - big...

Penmachno both loops

Loved it! Felt like riding a natural trail out in the wilds with great views out as you rode. Loved the first climb & descents in the woods, the first set singletrack in the open hillside was great at speed and we had some close calls. The more technical climbing...

England

Nice addition to the local area & easy to combine into a bigger loop out onto houndkirk and beyond. Really flowy trail that gets faster the more you ride it. Great place for skill progression & newbies to get a feel for MTBing

Hamsterley red & black

Good place to ride, enjoyed the red & black bar the long dull fire road drag on the red which went on for ages with no reward. Will shortcut the red up to the transmission section next time. The descents were good, the pikes teeth on the black was excelkent...

The Blue

Took my wife on her first trail centre run which was her fourth proper MTB ride. She loved it and had she not tanked it on the second run and knocked herself out it would of been even better! Alas (...kind of) she has not ridden since. The blue...

Dragons Back

Rode the dragons back with a mate while the minis played on the play park and had a walk. Loved it all, even the long climb in the middle. The section called "dreamtime (I think) at the start was brilliant and set up the days riding. Enjoyed the Adams family...

The Gorlech

I rode the Gorlech on my own one damp September morning. Enjoyed the whole loop but took it fairly easy as there is no phone signal if you cock it up. Tough first climb that seems to go on forever. Loved the first descents, I avoided the optional jump lines...

Afan

Best weekends riding I ever had May 2014 with 3 mates. Rode all the trails bar Skyline and we loved all of them. Started from Afan and worked over to glycorwg for lunch, which was good. Climb back up was tough in the heat but worth it for the descents...

Wharncliffe & Greno woods

The DH runs in greno woods are excellent. Still learning the way down but you end up flying into the jumps

Sutton bank red loop

Nice loop out onto the local BWs with the odd bit of purpose built trail thrown in. Some good descents through rocky rooty chutes test the nerve in the wet. As said in other reviews it gets very muddy in the wet, prob best avoided at these times. ...

The Kitchener & the bike park

My nearest trail centre - I go about once a month for anything from a quick blast to a longer days riding out of the centre and back onto the trails. The Kitchener is at its best when ridden flat out, aim for a sub 50min lap. Take it easy...

Rother valley trails

These are decent volunteer built trails that are improving all the time. Gets muddy on the top sections in the winter but all rideable.

Great for an hours blast on an evening. Nice to have different line choices. Even the climb back up is fun...the first few times.

bloody bush plus the reservoir loop with the osprey blue

The red trail was ok, few to many fireroads but good climb up onto the Boardwalk. I found it a bit hard going on the HT but this might of been set up issues as it was only my 2nd ride on it. Last descent back to the castle from...

Grizedale Red

Only been the once and it was ok. Loved the initial singletrack climb but too many fireroads after this - there seems space to move the trail into the trees. Good descents on varied trails. Amazing view from the top and I am told you can easily head out into...

Great Technical trail riding. never an easy spin around the eight, always feel like I have been working. Great tight descents through the trees on the lower loop, swoopy is wicked fun and the black options are excellent. The new climb is brilliant and the black option is hard to...

FOD Red & Blue

Love this place - always stop off with the family on the way to South Wales summer hols. Blue trail is such fun for a blue and puts some reds to shame. Great climbs and great descents. There is a great playground 10minutes walk away for the kids. ...

The dog & monkey

Great place to ride, prefer the monkey as it's more technical & quieter. The upper & lower cliff descents are wicked fun if you get a clear run. The black option is a great addition and tests you skills (well mine at least...). The back third of the dog is...

Cut gate - out and back from fairholmes

Best ride in the peaks when it's dry on a summer evening. Get a early evening start and you can have the trail to yourself. Good options at either end to extend, best trails are on the ladybower side (lockerbroke, etc).

Dalby Red

Great place to ride, I love the length of the course, long enough for a good summer evening ride. The black options are good but there could be a few more spaced around the run. Facilities for the minis are great and they love the place almost as much as...
