Lanhydrock Cycle Hub
Lanhydrock Cycle Hub has around 10km of green and blue graded MTB trails, a red-graded Saw Pit dual slalom track, and a skills area with a balance bike track, plus a cafe, car park and bike hire, all set in the woods on the National Trust's Lanhydrock estate near Bodmin, Cornwall. The trails are aimed squarely at families and novice riders, and the wider Lanhydrock estate adds a Victorian house and gardens, holiday cottages and parkland walks for a full day out.

The Trails
All the trails start from the Cycle Hub car park and wind through woodland just north of the main Lanhydrock estate.
- Lodge Trail (Green) - 2.5km. A wide, well-surfaced route through quiet woodland with no technical features, suitable for families, beginners, trailers and disability bikes.
- Bazley's Trail (Blue) - 3km, with easy technical features.
- Walter's Trail (Blue) - 1km of short technical singletrack with moderate gradients.
- Hart Trail (Blue) - 1.5km of singletrack with moderate gradients.
- Timber Trail (Blue) - 1.5km, with short optional red-graded sections.
- The Saw Pit Dual Slalom (Red) - 500m (0.3 miles). Two tracks run side by side downhill through tightly packed rollers, jumps and banked corners, so you can race a friend or family member. It's suitable for adaptive mountain bikes, and a unique feature in the South West.
Skills Area
A dedicated skills area sits alongside the trails, with rollers, rocks and jumps to practise before heading out, plus a balance bike track for building confidence in young or new riders.
Beyond the Trails
Lanhydrock is a working National Trust estate as well as a cycling venue. The Victorian mansion and parterre gardens, with camellias, rhododendrons and magnolias in season, are open March to October, alongside a shop, plant centre and second-hand bookshop, and the estate's parkland carries the walls of a medieval deer park you can still trace on foot. National Trust holiday cottages on the estate make it easy to base a longer stay here. The main cafe near the Cycle Hub, and the parkland and cycle trails themselves, stay open year-round even when the house is closed.
Getting Here
The main car park for the Cycle Hub is on Respryn Road, just north of the main Lanhydrock estate entrance (postcode PL30 5AD for sat nav). Parking is free for National Trust members and pay-and-display for everyone else. Bodmin Parkway station is a few miles away, and National Cycle Network Route 3, the Cornish Way, links Lanhydrock to Bodmin town and on to the Camel Trail.
Lanhydrock is close to the Gawton Gravity Hub downhill trails, and is the sister site to Cardinham Woods MTB, a few miles up the road.
