Description

Cyclopark

Cyclopark is a large multi-sport cycling venue in Gravesend, north Kent, with 6km of purpose-built blue, red and black mountain bike trails. The site also has a floodlit BMX race track, a floodlit 2.9km tarmac road circuit, a skate park and a play park, all run by an independent charity on a pay-on-the-day admission basis. The MTB trails suit everyone from complete beginners to riders after a technical rock-garden challenge.

The Trails

  • Blue: wide berms and gentle rollers, the easiest grade for beginners and less experienced riders.
  • Red: fast, flowing single-track with rock features, a step up for riders building confidence.
  • Black: technical rock garden sections for advanced riders after a harder challenge.

All three grades share the same 6km network of purpose-built single-track. Riding is clockwise only, helmets are compulsory, and walking on the trails is not permitted. General admission is ยฃ7 per rider, pay-on-the-day with no booking required; bike and helmet hire can be booked online in advance.

Getting Here

The main car park is at The Tollgate, Wrotham Road, Gravesend, Kent, DA11 7NP, signed off the A2 at the A227 junction, with easy access from the M25. Cyclopark also sits directly on National Cycle Network Route 1, via the old A2 pedestrian, cycle and equestrian path that now bypasses the site, so it is reachable on a paved approach without a car. Ebbsfleet International station is a short taxi ride away for anyone arriving by train.

Beyond the Trails

Cyclopark is run by an independent charity on a Kent County Council-owned site and is one of the largest multi-sport cycling venues in the country. Alongside the MTB trails there is a floodlit BMX race track, a floodlit 2.9km tarmac road circuit, a large skate park, and Cycloland, a cycle-themed play park for younger children, plus a multi-use games area for football and basketball. The park runs a full weekly timetable of gym and fitness classes, adaptive cycling sessions through its Cyclo4All programme, and hosts five affiliated cycling clubs. Visit the Cyclopark website for the current activity programme and prices.
