Directions

From Whistler Village Square – walk north along the Valley Trail which follows Fitzimmons Creek downstream. You’ll be between the creek and the public parking lots, then pass under the bridge that is Lorimer Road. The trail crosses a foot bridge to Lost Lake PassivHaus. It should take you about 5-10 minutes.

Just five minutes of gentle pedaling from Whistler Village lies the tranquil recreation wonderland of Lost Lake

A dense network of trails weaves through the forest with lots of options for beginner to intermediate riders. Any rider who wishes to explore Whistler’s 250km of singletrack owes it to themselves to start in Lost Lake and get a feeling for the type of terrain, features, and style of cross-country riding that characterizes the Whistler area.

After an exhilarating loop (try Tin Pants, Fountain of Love, Pinocchio’s Furniture, Jelly Gum Drop Roll, Central Scrutinizer, Grand Wazoo) finish at Lost Lake itself for a refreshing swim and a cold drink from the kiosk. Despite the name, Lost Lake feels more like a paradise found.

I love this place. The trails are the best I've ridden anywhere. Huge variety and really great fun. Lost Lake isn't that big, but it is brilliantly developed and the trails are worth riding time and time again. Each individual trail is way-marked and lasts between about a 1 and 2 kilometres and can be linked in almost any way you want, which means no two rides need be the same.

For bike hire, go to http://www.crosscountryconnection.ca which is at the entrance to the Lost Lake area. Staff are friendly and helpful and will happily talk to you about the trails and the conditions. They have a really good selection of bikes. They also have a good cafe.

If you're in Whistler, chances are you're either there for the skiing/snowboarding or for the downhill MTB park. Don't forget to give Lost Lake a whirl - you won't regret it!

Good Points
Miles of natural but maintained trails. Varied - some twisty, fast flowing, others include rocky, challenging climbs and descents. Fantastic place.
Bad Points
Signage is patchy. Weather is changeable (it is, technically, a rain forest!).
